2020 reorganization: Towamensing Township supervisors

Scott Mosier winning two seats in November’s general election meant the third and final Towamensing Township supervisor would be decided during Monday’s reorganization meeting.

That spot, a two-year term, went to John Kleintop, who accepted the nomination from Mosier and Chairman Guy Seifert.

In November, Mosier won both a six-year and two-year term. Deciding to keep the six-year term, he resigned the two-year post. Kleintop ran a write-in campaign for supervisor during the primary election, Seifert said, but did not advance to the general election.

Aside from the appointment, Seifert was elected as board chairman, with Mosier serving as vice chairman.

In other votes Monday, the board appointed William Acierno as chairman of the vacancy board, Mosier as roadmaster, Jessica Ahner as secretary, Seifert as treasurer, Gina Sheckler as clerk and primary open records officer, Thomas Nanovic as solicitor, Carl Faust as primary zoning officer, Faust as uniform building code officer, Faust as uniform building code inspector with Jim Melber as an alternate, Carbon Engineering as the township engineering firm, Scott Bieber as the primary sewage enforcement officer and flood administrator, Karl Verren as emergency management officer, and Jenny Cheng as zoning hearing board and planning commission solicitor.

Planning commission members include Penny Kleintop, Rick Mertz, Robert Ziegenfus, James Shafer, George White, Dwight Eisenhauer and David Beers.

Zoning hearing board members include Karl Pielmeier, Robert O’Donnell, George Karas and alternate William Acierno.

Supervisor meetings will be the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m.
