Gianna M. Santapaula, 20, of Albrightsville, was injured when a 1999 Ford Expedition she was driving rolled over multiple times in a crash at 9:44 a.m. Dec. 13 on the Merwinsburg Road in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said she was transported by the West End Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, where police said she was treated for minor injuries.

Police said she was southbound on the township road when a deer ran out in front of her vehicle from the left side of the road. She swerved, causing her to lose control, and the Expedition slid off the roadway, striking a guide rail before rolling over several times, coming to rest on its passenger’s side.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police said Santapaula was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
