Blood Drive

An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held from 1-6 p.m. Monday at the Tamaqua YMCA.

Anyone 17 or older who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in general good health is eligible to donate blood.

Walk-ins are welcome or you can schedule an appointment by calling 800-733-2767 or going to www.RedCrossBlood.org.

The YMCA is located at 1201 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.

Primitive Methodist

Pastor Rick Clemson will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in American Primitive Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are held at 9:30 a.m.

Trustee board meeting at 7 p.m. today. Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Hope in the Mountains, a Nar-Anon Family Group, meets at 57 Hunter St. If you have questions or are interested in attending these meetings, contact Mark at 570-952-5098.

Tamaqua seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Dec. 5 at the Tamaqua YMCA with 45 members in attendance. The vice president opened the meeting with the reading “Christmas is Coming.”

Guest speaker, Kerry Lasky spoke about how to cope with holiday stress and loss of family members. Mary Ann Laughlin was added to the sick list.

The Christmas party will be held on Dec. 12.

The group is open to anyone 55 or older, meeting at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the YMCA. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held Jan. 9.

Zion Lewistown

Past Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday in Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. The bell choir will perform during the service. Sunday school classes will meet at 9:15 a.m. The Christmas party will be held in the social hall immediately after morning worship.
