Doom and gloom

This letter is intended to “educate” everyone who is worried about the climate.

These headlines are from an article written by Myron Ebell and Steven Milloy: 1967 Salt Lake Tribune, “Dire famine forecast by 1975”; 1969, New York Times, “Everyone will disappear in a cloud of blue steam by 1989”; 1970, Boston Globe “Ice age by 2000”; 1971, Washington Post “New ice age coming”; 1974, The Guardian “New ice age coming fast”; 1974, Time “Another ice age?”; 1976, New York Times “The Cooling;” 1989, Associated Press “Rising seas to obliterate nations by 2000”; 2000, The Independent “Children just are not going to know what snow is”; 2001, Salon.com “N.Y. City’s west side highway will be under water by 2019”; 2008, Associated Press “NASA scientist — we’re toast”; 2008, Al Gore said the Arctic would be free of ice by 2013”; 2013, The Guardian “U.S. Navy predicts summer ice free Arctic by 2016.”

The “mad scientists” have been predicting doom and gloom for 50 years. I have not trusted the mainstream media since Jimmy Carter was president.

“Don’t worry, be happy.”
