Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Ream, pastor. Second Sunday of Advent, “Thank Offering Sunday,” guest speaker Ken Sears, Missionary to Ukraine.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages; fellowship time 10:15-10:45 a.m.

Wednesday: Youth group, 6 p.m. at church, Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, Blakeslee Boulevard, Lehighton 5 a.m.

Saturday: Dec. 7, decorating Bethany’s community Christmas tree.

• Dec. 28: Cancer Connection Support Group 10 a.m., every fourth Saturday of the month. This month’s support group is focused on finding hope when facing Christmas and the new year with illness.

Crossroads Community

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Kevin McGraw. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Midweek Bible study: Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Currently studying the book of Revelation.

Men’s fellowship breakfast: First Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Women’s fellowship breakfast: Third Saturday of each month at 9 a.m.

St. John’s

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 826 Mahoning Drive West, Lehighton.

Soup and Service: Dec 11 and Dec. 18, 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Worship service: Dec. 15, 9 a.m. “Christmas Through the Ages” featuring congregation members and Sunday school children. Musical selections, skit and readings. This will replace the regular worship service.

Grief support: Dec. 16, 6:30 p.m. in the family room.

Book club: Dec. 17, 6:30 p.m. in the family room. The book “The Christmas Train” by David Baldacci.

Casual worship: Dec. 21, 6:30 p.m. with Holy Communion in the fellowship hall.

Trinity highlights

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St, is at 5 p.m. Sunday begins at 9:30 a.m., includes the annual Sunday school program. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Joshua Krenz assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Decorating the nave and sanctuary takes place at 10 a.m. Saturday. Volunteer help would be welcome to participate.

Students in grades 5-12 are invited to participate in food, conversation and youth group activities from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, at the second floor youth room. December’s meeting date schedule is each Sunday at the time listed. Vicar Joshua Krenz is the youth adviser.

For those desiring to arrange a baptismal date, Pastor Moore will share information at 1 p.m. Dec. 15. Pastor Moore will share information for those desiring to seek membership at Trinity at 1 p.m. Dec. 22. Please contact the church office in advance at 610-377-4303 to register.

The Dec. 24 Christmas Eve worship schedule: 6 p.m. Family worship with Holy Communion and music by the Trinity Praise Band; 9 p.m. traditional candlelight worship with Holy Communion.
