American Legion Post in Gilbert hosts annual Thanksgiving dinner

Behind them, Navy veteran Mike Coughlin pushes a cart of buffet items to refill. The Legion hosted its sixth annual community Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday afternoon. On Monday, volunteers began preparing the 30 turkeys, five hams, mashed rutabaga, carrots, green beans, mashed red skin potatoes, sausage stuffing and various baked goods. Volunteers also filled takeout boxes with the feast to deliver to a few veterans who could not attend. See a photo gallery at tnonline.com.
