Police looking for video footage from hit-and-run

Police are looking for video footage after an apparent hit-and-run last week in Brodheadsville.

State police at Fern Ridge said the incident occurred at 6 p.m. Nov. 18 in front of the Verizon store at 1546 Route 209 when the juvenile, a Kunkletown resident, was walking south on the southbound shoulder and is believed to have been struck by a white box truck.

Police said the vehicle was traveling south when it struck the juvenile, whose leg appeared to be run over.

Police said they are attempting to identify the white box truck with red lettering, which is believed to have been the vehicle involved in the hit and run.

A witness showed up after the fact in an attempt to help two other people who were attempting to assist the juvenile.

Upon police arrival, the two others fled the scene, police said.

Police said the juvenile’s injuries are believed to be severe.

That portion of 209 was shut down for about a half-hour, police said.

Also assisting at the scene were the West End Fire Company and West End EMS.

The investigation continues, as police said they are looking for video footage.
