Man charged after drug raid in Franklin

State police at the Hazleton barracks executed a search warrant at 6:02 a.m. Nov. 15 at 187 Indian Hill Road, Franklin Township, arresting a man on a series of drug-related offenses.

Police said Carl T. Cressley, 45, was charged with possession, delivery and possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance not obtained from a practitioner, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said during the search of the residence, they found and seized four plastic zippered bags of a white crystal substance, a silver-colored digital scale, seven glass smoking devices, a plastic zippered baggie containing marijuana, a mirrored tray containing white residue and a Black and Decker “Smart Grind” electric grinder with residue on it.

The items were entered into evidence at the state police barracks in Lehighton and will undergo laboratory testing.

Police said Cressley admitted to owning the seized items, specifically the methamphetamine and marijuana, and that he sells the methamphetamine.

He has posted the $100,000 unsecured bail and will have a preliminary hearing on Wednesday in front of Judge William Kissner.
