Pictures with Santa

Palmerton Area High School Class of 1972 is holding its annual Photo With Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company, 270 Little Gap Road, Palmerton.

Turkey Bowl

The seventh annual Turkey Bowl “7 on 7 Double Elimination” Flag Football Tournament will be held Saturday at the Palmerton 7th Street Field. The first game starts at 8 a.m. Ages 13 to geriatrics will be playing. Come out and support the teams.

Palmerton Senior Center

The Palmerton Senior Center, 501 Delaware Ave., (Ambulance Building) serves lunch daily at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. For lunch reservations call the day before by 9:30 a.m. For Monday, the meal will be Minestrone Soup, spaghetti and meatballs, spinach, and pineapples. For Tuesday, the menu will be ginger chicken, stir-fry vegetables, brown rice, roll and an orange. For Nov. 27, the menu will be turkey Diane, mashed potatoes, broccoli, roll and bread pudding. The activities for those days will be pinochle on Monday, Bingo on Tuesday, and exercise with Wii on Wednesday. The center will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thanksgiving dinner

Living Hope Light House Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton will hold its annual community Thanksgiving dinner from 6-8 p.m. on Nov. 27. This is a free community meal. Curbside pickup for those unable to go the stairs will be available. Call ahead to 610-826-2201 and people will run the food to you.

A free concert will be held in the sanctuary from 7:30-9 p.m. presented by Diamon Price & Friends.

Make and take story time

A make and take story time will be held at the Palmerton Area Library on Saturday from 1:30-3 p.m. Story time will be at 1:30 p.m., and from 2-3 p.m. will be the make one/take one ornament activity. Come listen to stories about thankfulness, the make one ornament for Ornaments for a Cause, a community event created by local photographer Lynn Shupp, and one to take home.

Parents must accompany children. Free and open to the public.

Palmerton library

The Palmerton Area Library invites you to a special poster exhibition exploring how the lessons and legacies of WW1 continue to affect the U.S. today.

WW1 — Lessons & Legacies is on view now through Dec. 2 during regular library hours. The poster exhibition is brought to you courtesy of the Smithsonian and the U.S. WW1 Centennial Commission. The showing is open to the general public and free of charge.

Jerusalem UCC

On Sunday, Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) will hold worship services at 9 and 10:30 a.m. The annual congregational meeting will take place at 10 a.m. between the two services. Members are encouraged to attend this meeting.

The tree is ready to be filled with hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and socks. The deadline to place items on the tree is Dec. 8. All items will be given to the Eldred Community Center for children and needy adults living in the area.
