Lehighton state police report on incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:

• A 25-year-old woman from Sellersville, Bucks County, is facing charges following an incident at 9:50 p.m. Sunday about 9:50 p.m. along Creekside Manor Drive in Franklin Township, Carbon County. Troopers said the woman, who they declined to identify, struck the vehicle of a 61-year-old Summit Hill man multiple times with her vehicle and then fled the scene. She is facing charges of criminal mischief and related counts. Damage is estimated at $300.

• Troopers are investigating an apparent fraud incident. A 52-year-old male from Jim Thorpe reported he purchased Walmart gift cards, scratched the numbers and read them to an unknown caller on the phone. The victim provided the suspect with $3,500 in gift cards. The incident was reported on Oct. 24.

• A domestic incident has led to charges being filed against a woman.

Troopers responded to a residence along Blackberry Lane, Jim Thorpe, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, about 8:19 p.m. on Friday to a report of a couple arguing.

The man had visible marks on his neck. As a result troopers charged Michelle Billman, 51, r with strangulation, simple assault and harassment.

• Troopers said a 19-year-old man from Saylorsburg, who they declined to identify, was charged with harassment following an incident that occurred along Grand View Drive in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said the teen physically harassed a 56-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both from Saylorsburg.

• A South Carolina man has been charged with making terroristic threats by phone to a Carbon County resident.

Police said a 60-year-old man from Lehighton reported receiving the threatening calls from Justin Frankenfield, 52, of Conway. A 58-year-old woman from Lehighton is also listed as a victim.

• Two people were arrested following an incident that occurred on Wednesday in Monroe County.

State police at Lehighton said troopers responded to a residence along Jordan Drive in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, at 9:49 p.m. for a report of an active domestic incident.

Scott Kubik, 50, was charged with possession of a firearm when not permitted and Aldona Kubik, 35, was charged with simple assault.

• Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident reported at 5:51 p.m. Oct. 25.

Police said the victim, a 56-year-old Lehighton resident, reported someone broke the glass on the back door of her rental property on Jamestown Street in Mahoning Township, causing an estimated $800 in damages.

Police said it appeared there was nothing missing from inside the residence.

• State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a theft by deception case. A 29-year-old woman from Kunkletown reported to police that someone had used her credit/ATM card without her authorization between midnight March 30 and 12:13 p.m. Oct. 27. The theft happened along Interchange Road in Towamensing Township, police said.
