State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

• On Oct. 18 at 7:25 p.m. Kurt Fischer, 56, of Albrightsville, was stopped along Stony Mountain Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for several traffic violations. Fischer was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody and transported to the barracks, where he submitted to a breath test. DUI charges were filed.

• On Oct. 7 at 11:36 a.m. troopers stopped a vehicle along Route 940 at Dotters Lane in Kidder Township, Carbon County, for an expired registration. The driver was identified as Taylor Martin, 24, of White Haven. A further investigation revealed Martin was in possession of methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia. Martin was charged with drug counts.

• On Sept. 17 at 8:05 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop along Scarlet Oak Drive at State Road in Chestnuthill Township for multiple traffic violations. The driver was identified as Tina Franco, 46, of Saylorsburg. Troopers noted there was criminal activity present and a consent search was requested and granted. Found were 23 white glassine bags of heroin in the vehicle. Franco was charged with drug counts.

• On Sept. 14 at 4:37 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop along Snowmobile Drive at Route 534 in Kidder Township. The driver was a 17-year-old male from Jim Thorpe. Troopers detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search was conduct and found was marijuana and suspected THC and drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed with the Carbon County Juvenile Probation office.

• On Oct. 18 at 10:58 p.m., troopers took Cody Formisano, 24, of Jim Thorpe, into custody in Penn Forest Township on an active bench warrant issued in Carbon County. While being processed at the county prison in Nesquehoning, Formisano was found with two bundles of heroin on his person.

• On Sept. 30 at 9:07 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence along Mountain Road, Albrightsville, in Penn Forest Township, for a domestic incident. A 47-year-old woman said she engaged in an argument with her boyfriend, identified as Paul Teat, 51, of Albrightsville.She said he choked her.

He was charged with strangulation, simple assault and harassment.

• On Oct. 6 at 1:51 p.m., troopers responded to a residence along Long Brook Way in the Indian Mountain Lakes development in Penn Forest Township. A 53-year-old woman reported her fiance, Scott Lee Fichter, 52, of Albrightsville, had assaulted her.

Fichter was arraigned before District Judge Eric Schrantz, of Jim Thorpe, on strangulation and related charges and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning, unable to post bail. He has since been released from the prison.

• Troopers said at 8:39 a.m. on Oct. 10, at a residence along Pennell Road in Chestnuthill Township, Desjuana Washington, 42, of Brodheadsville, allegedly threatened physical harm to a 62-year-old man. As a result, Washington was charged with retaliation against a witness.

• On Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. troopers initiated a traffic stop along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. The driver was identified as Stacy Kilpatrick, 33, of Albrightsville. Upon further investigation, it was determined that criminal activity was present and a consent search was requested. Drug paraphernalia was found in Kilpatrick’s purse. Troopers said 114 bags of suspected heroin was located in Kilpatrick’s underwear. Drug charges have been filed.

• Troopers responded to a crash at 7:29 p.m. on Oct. 4 in the area of Warner Road and Sunnyside Court in Chestnuthill Township. On scene troopers were told the driver fled the scene. He was later located at his residence and identified as Justin Zipp, 39, of Saylorsburg. It was determined he was under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for DUI. Charges were filed. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.
