A Carbon County woman was sentenced to a county prison term on Oct. 21 after admitting to probation violations.

Angelia C. Fatzinger, 29, of Palmerton, appeared before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II in prison grab after spending the weekend in the county prison for contempt of court.

Fatzinger was scheduled to enter a guilty plea to one count of retail theft and also have a hearing on a probation violation petition filed by the adult probation office on Friday before Nanovic. However, Fatzinger appeared in court with illegal substances — marijuana — in her system. Nanovic then ordered her into custody and taken to the county prison pending a hearing on Monday.

Fatzinger admitted to violating the conditions of her probation on a retail theft charge. She was arrested on Feb. 2, 2017, by Mahoning Township police at the Walmart store. She pleaded guilty on July 16, 2018, to the charge and was placed on probation.

She was arrested on another retail theft charge at Walmart on June 15. That arrest was a violation of her probation.

She pleaded guilty to that charge and was placed on probation for six months, consecutive to her probation sentence. She was also ordered to pay court costs of about $1,000, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, make restitution to Walmart for $34.74, stay out of the store and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.

After admitting to the probation violations, Nanovic resentenced her in the 2017 case to serve four to 12 months in the county prison. He gave her four days credit.

He ordered her released from custody on Oct. 21, but she was to report to the county prison on Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. to serve the four months in the probation revocation case.
