Trunk or treat

Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Sunday for families with children between the ages of 2 and 10. The event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and will be held rain or shine.

Families will receive a free pumpkin while the supply lasts. All Tamaqua area families are welcome.

Calvary Lewistown

The Rev. Susan Moore will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m.

There will be a Sunday evening service of praise and Bible study at 6:30 p.m.

Oct. 30 will be prayer meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 is “Happy” pumpkin painting and carving at 6 p.m. Pumpkins are provided, along with hot dogs and snacks.

Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m. is the annual Harvest and Thanksgiving service.

St. John Lutheran

The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will preside at the 9:15 a.m. Sunday service on Oct. 27, Reformation Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Holy Communion.

Sunday school and Confirmation will be at 10:30 a.m.

Activities for the week include: Oct. 31, Shepherd Choir at 6:30 p.m., and Nov. 3, Bell Choir practice at 8 a.m.

Community dinner

A buffet-style chicken and waffle dinner will be held on Oct. 27 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
