Tamaqua news for Oct. 23, 2019

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Oct. 17 at the Tamaqua YMCA with 46 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker opened the meeting with the reading “Priceless Treasures.”

Guest Elba Dannenfelser was given a warm welcome.

Future events include a basket raffle on Oct. 24 at noon and a trip to Mohegan Sun Casino on Oct. 28.

The group is open to anyone 55 or older, meeting at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the YMCA. The next meeting will be held on Oct. 24.

Primitive Methodist

Pastor Rick Clemson will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in American Primitive Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are held at 9:30 a.m.

A Bible study on the book of Revelation will be continuing from 6-7 p.m. on Oct. 29 in the main Sunday school room of the church.

Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Hope in the Mountains, a Nar-Anon Family Group, meets at 57 Hunter St. If you have questions or are interested in attending these meetings, contact Mark at 570-952-5098.

Bethany EC

The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship services this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Life groups meet at 9:30 a.m. Ministry council meeting will be held at noon and Women’s Life group “Uninvited” will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Activities for the next week include: Monday, Oct. 28, Women’s Step Study at 5:30 p.m., Celebrate Recovery at 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 30 TYM Remix at 6:30 p.m., GriefShare at 7 p.m., Worship practice at 8 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 31 Halloween Candy Outreach at 6 p.m., Coffee and Conversation at Hope and Coffee at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 1, Emotions Life group at 6 p.m. at 43 Maple Drive, Jim Thorpe; Saturday, Nov. 2, OCC Packing party and lunch at 10 a.m.
