Business cited for violating liquor law

A Jim Thorpe business has been cited by the Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, for violating state liquor laws.

Jenset Inc., (operating as Dean Anthony’s), 1122 North St., was cited on Oct. 11 for making sales without a license.

Police said the violation took place on Sept. 6 when the business sold alcoholic beverages after its restaurant liquor license expired on Aug. 31 and had not been renewed and/or validated.

The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.

In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge.
