St. John Lutheran

The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. Sunday service in St. John’s Lutheran Church. Also on Sunday, bell choir practice at 8 a.m., Sunday school and confirmation at 10:30 a.m.

Reminder that items are due for the newsletter.

Activities for the week include: Monday, church council at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, learning ministry at 6:30 p.m.; Oct. 17, angel choir at 6 p.m., shepherd choir at 6:30 p.m. and property meeting at 7 p.m.; Oct. 19, assemble newsletter at 9:30 a.m.

Master Gardener workshop

Pick your evergreen type, create a unique wreath or swag and learn how to keep it fresh and beautiful by attending the Schuylkill County Master Gardeners Workshop at Evergreen Acres, 135 Fort Lebanon Road, in Auburn, from 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 9. A registration fee is required plus the cost of a supply package available on the day of the class.

The supply package includes greens, wire, ribbon and decorative natural materials. Dress for the outdoors, bring gloves, wire cutters and pruners. Make check payable to: PSCE Program Account. Mail registration and payment to Penn State Extension Master Gardeners, 1202 Ag Center Drive, Pottsville, PA 17901. The first 20 applicants will register without confirmation; those after 20 will be notified they are on a waiting list. Apply soon. The deadline for registration is Nov. 1. Zion Lewistown

The Rev. Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m.

The Fall Conference will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 and 19.

Rally Day is scheduled for Oct. 20, featuring the trio Witness.
