Pocono Garden Club covers tree, shrub care

The Pocono Garden Club will cover tree and shrub care at its upcoming meeting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Monroe County Conservation District, 8050 Running Valley Road, Bartonsville.

Zachary Ainslie, an International Society of Arboriculture certified arborist from the Stroudsburg area, will present a program on the common issues homeowners experience with their trees and shrubs. A question-and-answer period will follow.

Participation is encouraged in the monthly design exhibit, titled “Earth’s Reflections,” a design of choice using only a natural base such as log, stone or wire with moss. Size must not exceed 18 inches. No accessory permitted.

The horticultural entry would be a bouquet of late blooming annuals which can include live or dried hydrangeas or a single live or dried hydrangea of any color in a clear glass container. The houseplant entry would be a flowering begonia. Please bring in your entries 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

Everyone interested in gardening is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
