October 5, 1951 — Francis Deem runs for 101 yards and three touchdowns to lead Tamaqua to a 25-6 victory over Mahanoy City. All three of Deem’s scores come in the final quarter to extend a narrow one-point Blue Raider advantage. He reaches the end zone on runs of seven, 19 and 10 yards. The winners, coached by Bob Hartwig Jr., get on the board first in the second quarter when Bob Clemens recovers a fumble and returns it seven yards for a TD. Moyer adds 82 rushing yards, while Bob Burcin comes up with an interception on defense.
