The Marian volleyball team took down Tamaqua on Thursday. Panther Valley and Pleasant Valley also picked up wins in volleyball action.

Elsewhere, the Lehighton boys and girls soccer teams also grabbed victories, as did the Northern Lehigh girls soccer, Northwestern field hockey and Palmerton boys soccer squads.

VOLLEYBALL

Marian-Tamaqua

Marian cruised past Tamaqua, 25-6, 25-10, 25-17.

Macie Mazalusky paced the Fillies with 22 assists, five digs and three aces, while Tatianna Zeleniak finished with 11 aces and four digs.

Kaydee Romig recorded three digs and two kills for the Raiders, while Madison Baddick chipped in with two aces and two digs.

North Schuylkill-Panther Valley

Panther Valley cruised to a 25-7, 25-8, 25-13 Schuylkill League victory over North Schuylkill.

Gianna Steber paced the Panthers with 13 assists, while Erika Dubosky chipped in with nine aces, four digs and two kills.

Chloe Diekman added six digs and three aces.

ES North-Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley knocked off East Stroudsburg North for a 25-17, 25-21, 25-17 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win.

Cameron Caffrey led the Bears with 22 assists, seven kills and six digs, while Sara Frankunas finished with 10 kills, two digs, one block and one assist.

Desi Beade (10 digs, five aces, two assists) and Lexi Burgos (eight kills, one block) also played well in the win.

PV improves to 11-8-3 overall (8-5 EPC).

Pottsville-Jim Thorpe

Pottsville came away with a 25-15, 25-16, 21-25, 25-11 Schuylkill League win over Jim Thorpe.

Brandy Montemuro led the Olympians with 12 digs, eight kills and seven assists, while Abbey McGinley and Katie Demarco both contributed 14 digs.

Southern Lehigh-Northwestern

Southern Lehigh posted a 3-0 win over Northwestern in Colonial League play.

BOYS SOCCER

Palmerton-Catasauqua

A quick start lifted Palmerton to a 2-1 Colonial League win over Catasauqua.

Nic Singleton and Nick Papay both scored to give the Bombers a 2-0 halftime lead. Johnny Perloni was credited with an assist.

Damian DiPaolo scored on an assist from Joseph Merkel for the Roughies in the second half.

Lehighton-Pottsville

Lehighton rolled to a 3-0 Schuylkill League victory over Pottsville.

FIELD HOCKEY

Brandywine-Northwestern

Brynn Balliet’s two goals and an assist highlighted Northwestern’s 6-0 non-league win over Brandywine Heights.

Brinley Rex added two goals for the Tigers, while Greenleigh McGehee and Lauren Schellhamer also added scores.

GIRLS SOCCER

Lehighton-North Schuylkill

Lehighton got the best of North Schuylkill for a 3-1 Schuylkill League win.

Northern Lehigh-Wilson

Northern Lehigh edged Wilson for a 2-1 Colonial League victory.

Shaina Mazzocca accounted for both Bulldogs’ goals, scoring once in each half.

Erica Detweiler made 13 saves for the Bulldogs.
