A young man was seriously injured Wednesday night in a crash in Walker Township.

Just before 9 p.m., fire crews from Walker Township, Tamaqua Rescue, South Ward, along with Tamaqua, New Ringgold, and Lehighton ambulances were dispatched to the area of 1144 Catawissa Road, Walker Twp for a crash with entrapment.

When units arrived on scene they found a young man heavily entrapped in his Dodge pickup.

Crews from all departments worked to extricate the patient.

Crews located a female that was self extricated near the scene and was taken by ambulance.

Multiple helicopters were called but could not respond due to the weather. He was taken by ambulance to a trauma center. State police are investigating.
