McAdoo Police Log

McAdoo police reported on the following incidents:

• Kelly Gilhool, 42, of McAdoo was charged with harassment after an incident that occurred on Sept. 17. Police were dispatched to West Grant Street for a disturbance. Upon arriving on scene police spoke to the victim and a witness. An argument had started at a bus stop over a dog. Gilhool threatened to punch a woman. Another woman intervened and told Gilhool to leave that woman alone. Gilhool shoved that woman, who was holding a small child.

• Michael Steigelbauer, 25, of Hazleton, was charged with possession, public drunkenness and simple trespass after a Sept. 8 incident. Police were dispatched to the 600 block of South Kennedy Drive to try to locate an intoxicated man who left a residence. Steigelbauer was located a short time later in an alley. He was swaying and stumbling excessively with slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. Steigelbauer was taken into custody. A search recovered seven unopened suboxone packages.

• Brenda Roberts, 41, of Freeland, was charged with driving under the influence and expired registration on Sept. 1. Police stopped a vehicle for the expired registration. After speaking with Roberts she was asked to take field sobriety tests. Her performance indicated signs of impairment. Roberts was taken into custody and for a blood test, which revealed a 0.157% BAC.

• Brian Reyes, 23, of Hazleton, was charged with driving under the influence due to an Aug. 23 incident. Police stopped a vehicle for turning on red from East Blaine Street onto North Kennedy Drive. When speaking with Reyes, police detected an odor of marijuana from the vehicle. Reyes said he didn’t have anything in the car but he smoked an hour earlier. Sobriety test performance showed some signs of impairment. He was taken into custody and for a blood test, which showed THC in his blood.
