Pocono Regional Police are seeking a suspect in an assault incident.

Police are seeking the whereabouts of Tyrone Witherspoon, 32, no known address.

Police said the assault occurred at 7:40 p.m. Sept. 16 when officers responded to a residence along Boardwalk Drive in Tobyhanna. On scene it was reported that Witherspoon used a bladed instrument to slice the victim’s face after a verbal altercation. Witherspoon left the scene left the scene in a sports utility vehicle driven by a woman.

The victim was transported to St. Luke’s-Monroe campus. Police said Witherspoon is also wanted for failure to appear in a unrelated case.

He is facing new charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a weapon, both felonies; simple assault with a weapon, recklessly endangering another person, possession instruments of crime and persistent disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors; and a summary offense of harassment.
