Jim Thorpe man charged with indecent assault of girl

A Jim Thorpe man has been charged with the indecent assault of a girl.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Lee Marzen of the Jim Thorpe Borough Police Department:

Marzen was contacted by the victim in regard to a sexual assault that took place between 2008-2010 when the victim was between 8 to 10 years old.

The victim said she was sexually assaulted by a relative, Robert Hunsicker, 48, and that the incidents occurred when she was in her home in the 600 block of Center Avenue, Jim Thorpe.

The victim said on one occasion Hunsicker asked her to touch him inappropriately and he touched her as well. In the second incident, the victim said he also asked her to touch him.

Hunsicker faces charges on two counts of unlawful contact with a minor; and one count each of aggravated indecent assault, criminal attempt, and indecent assault.

He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail, and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Oct. 2 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
