East Stroudsburg Univ. to host recovery walk

East Stroudsburg University will host a recovery walk on campus and unveil a new dedicated recovery space for those struggling with substance abuse this Saturday.

Starting at 9 a.m., information tables, vendors and activities will be set up at the old rugby field behind Dansbury Commons.

The walk will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a butterfly release to honor those lost to substance abuse outside Sycamore Suites.

Then, ESU will unveil a new dedicated recovery space inside the Health & Wellness Center in the lower level of the residence hall. This space is designed to host social functions for students recovering from substance abuse.

Lunch will be provided back at the rugby field with speakers and music.

The Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission, Monroe County commissioners, state Rep. Maureen Madden, and over 30 community organizations will attend.
