Lehighton Bike Night to celebrate 21st anniversary

Three days of motorcycles, music and fun.

If that’s any indication, then those who attend the 21st annual Lehighton Bike Night are likely to be in Hog Heaven.

This year’s event will be held from Thursday through Saturday at Riders Resort in Franklin Township.

The three-day event will kick off at 6 p.m. Thursday at its location at 1500 Rock St.

It will feature vendors, various food, live entertainment, a basket raffle, bike games, skill run, performances, check presentations, photo booth, mechanical bull and more.

The 21st annual Lehighton Bike Night thanked event co-coordinators Kayla Semmel and Aggie McCauley for their dedication and support in organizing the basket raffle, which will benefit Tails of Valor.

“Thanks to many generous donors, it is sure to be a highlight at this year’s event,” Semmel said. “We would love to personally thank everyone who generously contributed to the basket raffle. Be sure to stop out and support this wonderful cause.

“Lehighton Bike Night would not be here today if it wasn’t for Ty Poole, so we would like to take this opportunity to wish Lehighton Bike night a Happy 21st Birthday, and to thank Ty for his dedication and support.

“Lehighton Bike Night has grown into an event that draws a crowd from all over the country. It helps sustain the economic growth right here in Lehighton and is one of many great events that puts our wonderful community on the map.

“Thank you again to everyone who makes this event a success, especially Ty Poole, Riders Resort, and their dedicated team. We hope to see you Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the 21st annual Lehighton Bike Night.”

The entertainment lineup will feature a Neil Young Tribute Band at 6:30 p.m. Friday, and a Jimi Hendrix Tribute Band at 9 p.m. Friday. More hits that can be heard will be those of Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin and other classic rock hits.

A check presentation will be made to the Valor Foundation Clinic (Paul’s House) at 6 p.m. Friday.

Anyone who would like to contribute by presenting a check may contact 570-249-7220.

There will also be a Skill Run, with registration at 9 a.m. Saturday; as well as various bike games.

This marks the third straight year the event is being held at the same locale.

In 2016, the event was held at the Mahoning Drive-In and raised $2,700 for Valor; in 2015, it was hosted by the Franklin Township Fire Company; and in 2014, it was held at the Grove in Lehighton.

Before that, the event had been held in the borough’s lower and upper park each of the previous 15 years.
