September 14, 1963 — Lehighton’s defense returns two interceptions for touchdowns and gives up less than 100 yards in posting a 51-0 shutout of Jim Thorpe. Kerry Bowman scores two touchdowns, one on an 86-yard interception return, and also throws for two scores. Bowman crosses the goal line on a 1-yard plunge and also fires TD passes of 56 yards to Dana Beisel and 24 yards to Randy Rex. Beisel adds a 5-yard scoring run, while Dave Werner tallies from a yard out. The winners, coached by Mike Ebbert, also receive a 90-yard pick-six from Koch.
