State police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on crashes investigated by troopers recently.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 4:08 p.m. Aug. 12 along Route 115 at the intersection with Astolat Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Sarimar Carlo Soto, 22, of Brodheadsville, was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima southbound while John D. Grilley, 38, of Effort, was northbound on a 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Soto attempted a left turn into a parking lot in front of Grilley. The front of the bike struck the passenger side of the Nissan.

Troopers said Grilley was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. Soto was not injured.

• A crash was reported at 10:40 a.m. on Aug. 11 along Route 115 near Poplar Creek Lane, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Danielle E. Gisonti, 30, of Albrightsville, was northbound operating a 2010 Ford Focus when she entered the southbound lane and hit a 2010 Nissan Altima driven by a 17-year-old female from Kunkletown.

Both drivers and a passenger with the teen, Adam A. Guzman, 18, of Kunkletown, had minor injuries and were taken to the LVH - Pocono Campus.

• On Aug. 19 at 1:41 p.m. a crash occurred along Old Stage Road at Penn Forest Trail in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Allen M. Mason, 66, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2015 Buick Regal southbound when he swerved to avoid a deer on the road. The vehicle went off the road and rolled over several times before coming to rest. Mason had a suspected minor injury and was taken to St. Luke’s Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton, by Lehighton ambulance.

• A motorcycle crash was reported at 8:40 p.m. Aug. 23 along Route 115, near Pheasant Avenue, in Chestnuthill Township. Marcell Gibbs, 29, of Effort, was operating a 2019 Yamaha southbound when a deer ran out in front of him. The bike hit the deer and continued southbound on the right shoulder while Gibbs managed to keep the bike upright. The bike came to rest in a field off the right shoulder.

Gibbs was not injured but the bike was towed.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 2:08 p.m. Sept. 1 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. Christopher B. Kosko, 40, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2014 Dodge Durango when he swerved to the right causing the vehicle to leave the roadway. The undercarriage collided with the edge of a ditch.

Kosko was not injured but the Durango was towed. He was cited not having the car inspected.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 10:48 a.m. on Sept. 7 along Route 209 at Rodenbach Lane, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Betty J. Bauer, 76, of Brodheadsville, was stopped on Rodenbach Lane for a stop sign while Jonathan J. Frantz, 23, of Kunkletown, was southbound on 209. Bauer attempted to cross 209 and pulled into the path of Frantz and a collision occurred. Bauer was injured and taken to LVH- Pocono by West End ambulance. Frantz was not injured.

Bauer was cited for the crash.

• On Sept. 7 at 10:42 a.m. a crash occurred along Route 534 in Penn Forest Township. Troopers said owner of a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant, who they declined to identify, was working on it in the driveway at 1593 Route 534, when he got out of the car and left it in neutral. The Galant rolled onto Route 534 and into the path of a 2003 Ford Escape operated by Craig D. Leuzinger, 50, of Albrightsville, who was eastbound at the time. Leuzinger hit the car.

Leuzinger sustained a leg injury and was taken by Lehighton ambulance to St. Luke’s Gnaden Huetten Campus.
