The Indians’ Jack Lorenz earned medalist honors with a 74, while Aaron Miller followed with a 77.

Four second half goals helped Tamaqua grab a 7-3 Schuylkill League win over North Schuylkill.

Tyler Steigerwalt led the Blue Raiders with two goals and two assists. Zach Campomizzi followed with two goals and an assist, while Michael Shlanta, Ryne Fisher and Brian Milot all scored once.

Nathaniel Noftz and Jonathan Ulicny split time in front of the Blue Raiders’ net and combined for three saves.

Pleasant Valley-PM East

Pleasant Valley and Pocono Mountain East settled for a 1-1 tie after double overtime in an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference match.

Damian Sopanski posted a second half goal for the Bears.

FIELD HOCKEY

Palmerton-Catasauqua

Palmerton rolled to a 5-0 Colonial League victory over Catasauqua.

Erin Kistler paced the Bombers’ attack with two goals, while Megan Serfass, Claire Frank and Emily Recker all scored once. Emily Baumgardt, Emma Christman and Serfass recorded assists.

ES North-Lehighton

A big second half propelled Lehighton to a 4-0 non-league win over East Stroudsburg North.

Madison Brown scored the game’s initial goal in the first half for the Indians. Brown, Brooke Schleicher and Karissa Hough all added second half goals.

Ashley Wojton needed to make just one save to post the shutout for the Indians (3-2).

Northern Lehigh-Salisbury

Salisbury edged Northern Lehigh for a 2-1 Colonial League win.

Hailey Evans scored the Bulldogs’ lone goal.

GIRLS SOCCER

Lehighton-Wilson

Lehighton grabbed its first win of the season with a 2-1 non-league triumph over Wilson.

The Indians’ Ashley Marchessault scored twice, while Alyssa Myers got the win in goal with seven saves.

PM East-Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley and Pocono Mountain East played to a 0-0 tie in an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference contest.

The Cardinals (5-0-1) held a 11-9 edge in shots and an 8-4 advantage in corners.

Samantha Merklin finished with 11 saves for the Bears (3-0-2, 3-0-1), while Cardinals’ keeper Isabella Horvath had nine.

Jim Thorpe-Palmerton

Palmerton outlasted Jim Thorpe 1-0 in double overtime in a non-league match.

The Bombers’ Carissa Fallon had the game’s lone goal.

Palmerton goalie Megan Green made 13 saves to record the shutout. Kate Boss had six saves for the Olympians.

Alyssa Frey paced the Indians with 11 assists and six aces, while Danielle Miller contributed six aces and four kills. Emma Schappell had eight aces and one kill.

N. Schuylkill-Northwestern

Northwestern recorded a 25-13, 21-25, 25-7, 25-17 non-league win over North Schuylkill.

Brynn Buschta sparked the Tigers’ attack with 16 digs, seven aces and three kills, while Chloe Grim chipped in with 16 digs and four aces. Ella Carson (13 digs, three kills), Kylie Wade (eight kills, two aces) and Sam McGinley (six kills, two aces) also had strong performances.

Holy Redeemer-Panther Vy.

Panther Valley pulled out a 25-13, 25-19, 20-25, 25-12 non-league victory over Holy Redeemer.

Jenna Dubosky had 13 kills and 10 assists for the Panthers, while Erika Dubosky finished with 12 digs, eight kills and two aces. Olivia Dacey (eight kills, six digs, three aces) and Gianna Steber (14 assists) were also key contributors in the win.

Pleasant Valley-ES South

Pleasant Valley knocked off East Stroudsburg South for a 25-16, 25-21, 25-17 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory.

Deskyn Beade posted 24 digs, three aces and three assists for the Bears (4-1-2, 3-0). Cameron Caffrey added 14 assists, 11 digs and five kills. Sara Frankunas (14 kills, two digs) and Ariana Thourot (12 assists, two digs, one ace) also helped PV.

JR. HIGH BASKETBALL

Weatherly-Mahanoy Area

Weatherly recorded a 44-15 win over Mahanoy Area.

Bethany Houser led the Wreckers with 25 points, while Brianna Pugh added eight.
