Class breakfast

Members of the 1967 class of Jim Thorpe High School will hold their breakfast at 10 a.m. Sept. 16 at the Boulevard Restaurant in Lehighton.

Free dinner

The next free community dinner of St. Mark’s/St. John’s Episcopal Church, will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sept. 22. Being served this month is a pork and sauerkraut dinner. For more information, please call the church at 570-325-2241.

Receiving Bibles

Three members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in the Heights Sunday school will receive inscribed Bibles on Sept. 15 as gifts from the Sunday school. Those children are Sienna Sargent, Nathan Sheckler and Colton Steigerwalt. Sunday school begins at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Also during Sunday school, a banner stand with six banners depicting the seasons of the church year — Pentecost, Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent and Easter will be dedicated in memory of late Ruth Klotz, a former Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent. The dedication will be officiated by Pastor Muhr. The banners were purchased through donations to the Sunday school in memory of Miss Klotz.
