Local roundup: Results from Sept. 6

The Pleasant Valley boys and Northwestern girls soccer teams picked up victories on Friday.

BOYS SOCCER

ES South-Pleasant Valley

A pair of second half goals lifted Pleasant Valley to a 2-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over East Stroudsburg South.

With three minutes left in the game, Onious George followed up a shot that hit the far post to break a scoreless tie and give the Bears a 1-0 lead . Matt Erhardt closed out the game out with his fourth goal of the year off an assist from George.

With the win, Pleasant Valley improves to 2-2 this season.

Wilson-Northwestern

Wilson edged Northwestern 3-2 in Colonial League action.

All five goals were scored in the game’s first half. Tajae Turner led the Warriors with two goals, while Wilson Bihario recorded the other score.

Ryan Baker accounted for both of the Tigers’ goals.

Bangor-Northern Lehigh

Derek Filipkowski’s hat trick powered Bangor to a 5-1 Colonial League win over Northern Lehigh.

Nicholas McCoy and Gabe Lawler also scored for the Slaters.

Bryce Lopinto found the back of the net in the second half for the Bulldogs.

GIRLS SOCCER

Northwestern-Wilson

Northwestern rolled to an 11-1 Colonial League victory over Wilson.

Lauren Hicks, Lexi Bleam, Kylie Zentz and Naomi Glassberg, who also made eight saves, scored two goals apiece for the Tigers, who led 5-1 at halftime.

Samantha Bardonner, Kayla Bardonner and Hallie Bleam also added goals for Northwestern.
