Gaston, Streisel win at Go M.A.D. 5K

Lehighton’s Kelsey Gaston and Mahanoy Area’s Cole Streisel were the overall winners at the 4th Annual Kids Gone M.A.D. 5K Wet and Wild Run/Walk, which was held on Aug. 24 at Tuscarora State Park.

Streisel turned in the top time, finishing the course in 17:28. Gaston was the top female, completing the event in 21:43.

Fourteen other participants earned first-place finishes in their respective categories.

Go M.A.D. stands for Go Make a Difference here and around the world. The event was started by Sarah Laible, a recent Lehighton graduate. Proceeds from Go M.A.D. benefit various charitable organizations and local cross country teams and runners.
