Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Aug. 22 at the Tamaqua YMCA with 52 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker opened the meeting with the reading “With Me Every Day.”

Dolly Kamant was added to the sick list. Warm welcomes were extended to returning members Kathleen Valentine, Eleanor Schmerfeld and Janet Solomon.

Aug. 29 is the last day to pay for the upcoming picnic. The group is open to anyone 55 or older, meeting at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the YMCA. The next meeting will be held on Aug. 29 and will include provided refreshments.

Primitive Methodist

Pastor Rick Clemson will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in American Primitive Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are held at 9:30 a.m.

A Bible study on the book of Revelation will be continuing on Tuesday, starting at 6 p.m. in the main Sunday school room. Hope in the Mountains meetings are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. This is a Nar-Anon Family Group. For more information, call 570-952-5098.

Summer concert

Playing a great mix of your classic rock favorites, Vinyl Persuasion will perform at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the summer concert at the Tamaqua Train Station. St. Luke’s University Health Network is this week’s sponsor.

The Summer Concert Series is a function of the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce. Please do not contact the Train Station Restaurant or The Station Creamery.

Bethany EC

The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church.

Activities for the next week include: Monday, 6:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery; Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. TYM Remix, 8 p.m. Worship practice.
