A 10-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle on Friday in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said the crash occurred about 1:25 p.m. at the intersection of Route 54 and South Vine Street, in Shenandoah. Troopers said Joseph J. Mikita, 48, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck and attempting a right turn from Route 61 onto South Vine Street, when the juvenile attempted to cross Route 61 and traveled into the path of the pickup.

The juvenile sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill Campus, Pottsville. No charges were filed.
