Jim Thorpe man facing charges from domestic incident

A Jim Thorpe man is facing charges following a domestic assault incident.

Jim Thorpe police said at 10 p.m. Aug. 14, they were dispatched to a residence along South Avenue for an active physical domestic incident.

On scene, officers spoke to Frank Bradley, 57, of the South Avenue address. He had a gun in the back of his waistband, which officers took from him. While one officer spoke to Bradley, another went inside the home and spoke to other family members.

Police said Bradley told them he was having problems with his son. A confrontation between Bradley and the son occurred inside the home, but the father denied striking his wife or his son. Officers noted they detected a slight odor of alcohol emanating from Bradley.

Family members reported that the son had injuries. The son told police Bradley entered his room, began to yell at him, and pushed him against a wall, pinning him in a corner. The son said Bradley grabbed him by the throat with one hand while striking him with the other. While trying to get his father off him, the son said he bit his finger. Police said the son had a mark on the left side of his neck consistent with strangulation, a swollen finger with bite marks and a cut under his lip that was bleeding.

Police said the wife then entered the room and Bradley shoved her to the ground and used one hand to choke her. Police said the wife had a mark on the left side of her neck, by her ear, that was consistent with strangulation. During the incident, the wife’s earrings were ripped out, which caused bleeding to the ear.

As a result, police charged Bradley with strangulation, simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before a district judge and released after posting bail.
