State police at Stroudsburg

State police at Stroudsburg reported on the following incidents.

• On Aug. 7 about 8 p.m. troopers responded to a residence along Meadow Drive in Price Township, Monroe County, for a reported burglary in progress. During the investigation it was learned that a man forced entry to the home and assaulted the homeowner.

The suspect was later identified as Jayquan Williams, 22, of Tobyhanna. He has been charged with burglary and related offenses.

• Troopers said Susan Trussell, 65, of Turtle Walk Lane, in Albrightsville, has been cited for dog law violation. Troopers said she allowed her dog to be unsecured and it bit an employee of the Baymont Inn in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, at 8:36 p.m. on Aug. 8.

• A Monroe County man is facing multiple theft charges.

State police at Stroudsburg said Lee Jones, 22, of Tobyhanna, has been charged with retail theft incidents at the Giant Market located along Route 611 in Hamilton Township.

Troopers said Jones entered the store on Aug. 2 about 7:30 p.m. and took a total of four items valued at $32.96. Troopers said on Aug. 11 about 11 p.m. Jones again took items from the store. This time there were 30 items taking with a total value of $392.66. A third theft occurred on Aug. 12 about 3:14 p.m. with five items taken with a total value of $82.95.

Troopers added that on the Aug. 11 theft incident a 17-year-old female from East Stroudsburg was also involved.

The investigation into the thefts is continuing.
