Successful golf season for Miller

Former Northwestern Tiger Cole Miller is having a strong golf season on the Mackenzie Tour, the PGA’s Canada Tour, in his second year as a professional.

A 2018 graduate of Penn State University, Miller currently sits No. 30 on the Order of Merit for the tour. His season earnings have eclipsed $13,500 in Canadian dollars through eight events. He’s earned money in three events on the tour since competition began in May.

Miller’s strongest finish on this year’s Mackenzie Tour came in early June when he shot a 12-under par at the Bayview Place DCBank Open for fourth place. He finished with 17 birdies and one eagle over his four rounds at the Uplands Golf Club in British Columbia.

He raked in over half of his earnings at the Bayview Place DCBank Open, taking home $8,800 Canadian dollars.

Miller came in 11th place more recently at the HFX Pro-Am in late July at Oakfield Golf and Country Club in Nova Scotia. He shot a 16-under par for the event and earned $4,240.

His final cash-rewarding event came in the middle of the season when Miller placed in a tie for 53rd at 8-under par at Windsor Championship at the Ambassador Golf Club in Ontario last month.

Miller also competed in five other events, where he narrowly missed the cut.

Miller is seeking to earn a spot in the Web.com Tour in 2020. The top five finishers of the Mackenzie Tour will qualify for the Web.com Tour.
