The Lehigh Valley Scholastic Division (grades 9-12) baseball team that participated in the Keystone State Games finished the tournament with a record of 2-2-1.

The team, comprised of players from Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton counties, posted a 7-3 win over Blue Mountain 2 and shut out Pocono 2 by a 10-0 score. Losses came to West (6-0) and Blue Mountain 1 (8-0), while the Lehigh Valley squad also played Pocono 1 to a 0-0 tie.

Area athletes on the team included Palmerton’s Ryan King, Owen Schoch, Brock Bollinger, Jonathan Byers and Lukas Netznik; Panther Valley’s Michael Pascoe, Bradley Hood, Patrick Boyle, Derek Pavlik and Jonathan Byers; Lehighton’s Joshua Steigerwalt; and Marian’s Bryan Smith.

The team was coached by Kelly Bollinger and Mike Netznik Jr.
