St. Joseph Blood drive

St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley will host a Miller-Keystone blood drive from 1-6 p.m. on Aug. 13 in the Rev. James Burdess Social Hall.

To schedule a donation, call the parish office at 570-645-2664 or visit www.GiveaPint.org. The church’s sponsor code on Miller-Keystone’s website is 5028.

St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley is located at 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill.

Neighborhood watch

The next Nesquehoning Neighborhood Watch meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the borough hall. All are welcome.

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Aug. 5-9 is:

Monday: Corn chowder, franks & beans, broccoli slaw, Greek yogurt or tuna wrap

Tuesday: Lemon pepper fish, mac & cheese, stewed tomatoes, peas, orange or chicken salad

Wednesday: Honey mustard chicken, mashed sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, apple slices or pork sandwich

Thursday: Boneless ribs, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, vanilla pudding or beef Thai salad

Friday: Turkey cacciatore, pasta, broccoli, fruit salad or chicken salad sandwich

The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced upcoming events for Aug. 5-16.

Cornhole on Aug. 5 at 11 a.m.; Minute to Win It on Aug. 6 at 10:30 a.m.; Penny Game on Aug. 7 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Aug. 8, starting at a new time 10:45 a.m.; Name That Tune on Aug. 9 at 11 a.m.

Nickel-Keeno on Aug. 12 at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on Aug. 13 at 10:45 a.m.; Yahtzee on Aug. 14 at 11 a.m.; Trivia on Aug. 15 at 11 a.m.; Picnic at Jim Thorpe Memorial Park on Aug. 16 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
