Police stop erratic driver in Bowmanstown

Police have stopped an erratic driver after he traveled from Mahoning Township through to Bowmanstown.

The incident began along Route 443 in Mahoning Township as the man, who has not been identified, was driving his Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck east in the westbound lanes.

Numerous times his truck veered into oncoming lanes, forcing vehicles off the road. Crossing over the McCall bridge the truck struck the right wall, as well as striking the Jersey barrier several times as he traveled Route 248 east. He was finally pulled over by Franklin Township chief of police Jason Doll who took him into custody.

Doll was assisted by Lehighton, Palmerton and Mahoning Township police as well as state troopers.
