July 22, 1963 — Ron Everett belts a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give Summit Hill a 4-3 walk-off win over Jim Thorpe in the District 18 Little League tournament. Everett’s blast comes with one out and ends a contest that had been suspended in the eighth inning from the day before. Mike Novak tosses two innings of scoreless relief to earn the mound victory. Everett also doubles in the contest, while Wayne Eikhoff finishes the game with four hits. Thorpe’s Mike Slivka also collects four hits.
