Philadelphia man sought for assault

Pocono Mountain Regional police are looking for a Philadelphia man in relation to an assault case.

Police said a woman called police on July 6 to report an assault that occurred at 9 p.m. July 4. The victim told police Joseph Springman, 46, and she had an argument that escalated to a fight. She said he made several swings at her with a closed fist. He then pushed her onto a bed and continued to swing a closed fist. The woman tried to leave when Springman pushed her against a wall and took the keys to their vehicle. Springman later returned and the victim drove him to a bus station.

Photographs of the injuries which were bruises to the right side of the woman’s face and right arm were taken.

Police said Springman, fled to the Philadelphia area. Charges were filed. It was also determined that Springman is currently on state parole. State parole was notified of his arrest.
