Carbon’s Justin Marykwas pitched a one-hitter to lead the Monarchs to an 8-1 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over Salisbury.

Marykwas, who threw 99 pitches, walked four and struck out eight.

Wyatt Zimmerman had two hits, one a solo home run, and knocked in four runs for the Monarchs, while Ian Hubbard added a pair of hits and three runs.

Zimmerman’s homer in the top of the fifth snapped a 1-1 tie. The winners put the game out of reach with two runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh.

Carbon also received two hits, a run and an RBI from Randy Bongiorno. Brad Buzzard chipped in with a hit and two runs.
