Police investigate Monroe thefts

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating two thefts in Monroe County.

Troopers said a 29-year-old woman from Catskill, New York, reported that her vehicle was entered and items removed while parked along Camelback Road in Big Pocono State Park, in Jackson Township. Troopers said the left side back window on her 2019 Jeep was smashed to gain entry.

A purse and various credit cards were removed. Damages were estimated at $200 for the window. The incident occurred sometime between 9:15 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.

A theft that happened between midnight June 11 and 1 p.m. June 12 on the 5500 block of Willow Lane, Chestnuthill Township.

The victim told police someone stole two packages from her mailbox during the above times. They included a bed comforter valued at $25 and a planter with a bird fountain worth $20.
