Boating safety event held at Beltzville

A combined boating safety event was conducted by members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the U.S. Power Squadron at Beltzville State Park on June 1. The intent is to educate the public on the importance of ensuring that when you go out on or into the water that you practice good safety techniques such as wear your life jacket, ensure that someone knows where you plan to be and what time you anticipate returning; and that on the water your vessel has all of the Pennsylvania state mandated safety equipment such as flares, sound signal device and you have taken a boating safety course. From left, Coast Guard Auxiliarist Flotilla 15-11 Easton members Leon Regis and Flotilla William Durdon, commander; Power Squadron members Keith Knoblach, commander and advanced pilot; Kathleen Nowroozani, past commander and senior navigator; and Michael Lebeduik III, past commander and junior navigator conducted a boating safety event at Beltzville State Park on June 1.
