Summit Hill man charged with possession of meth

A Summit Hill man is facing drug charges following an incident on April 23.

Borough police said at 4:55 p.m. officers on patrol were dispatched to the area of Oak Street and Summit Avenue for a man walking with his shirt off, dancing and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

Officers arrived in the area and located the man, identified as Allan Daniel Kovacs, 31. Kovacs was detained and admitted to officers he did use methamphetamine earlier in the day and there was an active warrant for his arrest.

Police searched him and found was 17 clear baggies containing traces amounts of a crystal like substance. It later tested positive for meth.

Kovacs was transported to the police station where he declined to make a statement.

He has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.
