Local Baseball Roundup: Results from June 4

Three area teams were involved in one-run games Tuesday, with only Berlinsville posting a victory.

BLUE MOUNTAIN LEAGUE

Limeport-Berlinsville

The Berlinsville Braves pulled out a 7-6 victory over the Limeport Bulls in Blue Mountain League action.

Zach Palansky, a Northern Lehigh graduate, pitched the first four innings for the Braves, allowing two runs on five hits. Palmerton product Toby Sander relieved in the fifth and picked up the win.

Northwestern alum Jake Augustus contributed a single and knocked in a pair of runs.

The winners (4-3) also received two hits and two RBIs from both Chris Rebar and Kyle Buchman.

S. Parkland-Northern Valley

South Parkland’s A.J. Palumbo outdueled Ryan King of Northern Valley as the Chargers dropped their season opener, 2-1.

Palumbo allowed six hits and an unearned run, while walking one and striking out seven. King tossed six frames, giving up just four hits and two walks while fanning three.

Nick Henry and Justin Holmes each had two hits for Northern Valley (0-1). Luke Eitner added a hit and an RBI.

Tamaqua-Pine Grove

The Tamaqua Blue Sox rallied late, but came up just short in dropping an 8-7 decision to Pine Grove.

Trailing by five runs, Tamaqua tallied one run in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

Mason Moyer had four hits and knocked in two runs for the Blue Sox, while Luke Van Buskirk added three hits and two RBIs. Tamaqua (0-3) also received three hits from Tate Ligenza and a hit and three runs from Michael Bonetsky.
