June 3, 1974 — Marian’s golf team finishes in fourth place at the annual PCIAA State Golf Championships. The Colts end nine strokes behind champion North Catholic and are just three back of runner-up Scranton Prep. Individually, Dave Linckhorst and Len Sniscak both tie for fourth place. The two shoot 80s over the first 18 holes, which are played at the Summit Country Club in Cresson, and finish with 40s at Appledale Golf Course in Ebensburg. Their total of 120 puts them seven strokes behind winner Dave Scarpatti of Scranton Prep.
