At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Palmerton Police attempted to stop a silver Honda coupe for speeding on Route 248 eastbound. According to the police department’s Facebook page, the driver refused to stop, and instead fled at a high rate of speed into Lehigh Township, passing other vehicles by going onto the shoulder and into the opposing lane.

After detouring onto several side roads the driver returned to Route 248 east, and the vehicle was last seen in the area of Cherryville where the pursuit was ended for safety reasons.

The car is believed to be a silver Honda Accord coupe, possibly between 1999-2001 model years, with dark aftermarket wheels and dark tinted windows.
