Parryville residents voice concerns over borough roads

Parryville residents expressed concerns this week about the state of the roads throughout the borough.

To ease concerns for this ongoing issue, the borough has applied for a $51,000 grant.

In 2018, the borough received a similar grant to repair and improve roads.

The borough hopes to obtain the grant again.

The playground committee reported that the $147,146 grant from Local Share funds is in its final stages and that the contract is in hand. Construction will begin in June and the goal is to have the new playground completed by the end of this summer.

A few changes were made to the board.

The jobs of secretary and treasurer were both handled by Dana Brubaker.

Moving forward, the positions will be separated. Brubaker will serve as acting treasurer and Tiffany Oakley will serve as secretary.

Oakley told residents that she will be working to update the borough website and will be uploading prior minutes and future agendas in the near future.

Jason Smith and Nicholas Kurek will serve on the planning commission.
