May 18, 2012 — Hailey Marini and Rachel Sisco both belt home runs to help Pleasant Valley gain a 4-2 victory over Pocono Mountain East in the Mountain Valley Conference championship game. Marini’s solo blast in the fourth inning ties the game at 2-2, while Sisco’s shot in the sixth gives the Bears an important insurance run. Winning pitcher Rikki Correll works out of a bases-loaded, one out jam in the seventh to secure the victory and the title. PV, coached by Steve Caffrey, receives two hits from Marini. Nicole Kregeloh adds an RBI double, with Tracey Deubler contributing a triple and run scored.
